Netflix’s new production led by Fernando Meirelles 68, and Quico Meirelles 36, began filming this week, the streaming service announced. Titled “Psychic” the miniseries is based on the book of the same name by Edyr Augusto .
The plot centers on three characters whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways in the rivers of the Atlantic Amazon. Janalice (Domithila Catete ), a young woman kidnapped by human trafficking, Preá (Lucas Galvino ), who needs to make peace with his destiny as the head of a gang of “water rats”, criminals who operate on the region’s rivers, and Mariangel (Marleyda Soto ), who seeks revenge for the death of his family.
During the film, the three protagonists will try to survive the “psychic” (curse) that they believe has been cast upon them.
According to Netflix, the miniseries will provide “an intense and immersive experience in the North of Brazil. “Psycho” There is still no release date scheduled.
