The public farewell to the then main Russian opponent Alexei Navalny should be held at the end of this week, said spokeswoman Kira Yarmish in a post on the social network X this Monday (26).
Yarmish added that the late politician's aides were looking for a venue to host the public send-off and asked anyone with suitable facilities to contact the team.
“We are looking for a hall for a public farewell to Alexei. Time: end of this working week”, said Yarmysh.
Navalny's body was handed over to his mother on Saturday (24), nine days after the news of his death and after widespread public demands for the immediate return of his remains to his family.
People in cities across Russia have been gathering for impromptu vigils for more than a week, laying flowers at monuments to victims of the crackdown.
