Publication of names of companies that violate the measures against Covid-19

A specific report, which announces in advance that the names of companies that violate the measures against Covid-19 disease will be made public, is included in an amendment submitted to Parliament today. Through this move the government seeks to act discouragingly against those who oppose the measures it has enacted against the spread of the virus.

This amendment was tabled in the draft law regarding the modernization of competition law for the digital age, regulating issues of the Ministry of Development and Investment.

At the same time, this provision seeks to immediately inform the customers of these stores, which is also estimated to have a deterrent effect on offenders.

In particular, Article 1 of the amendment states that:

“The aim is to ensure the disclosure of the trade names of companies that violate the measures against the spread of COVID-19 disease. “This provision discourages both the company from complying with the relevant legislation and the consumer public from attending and trading with companies that are not operating legally in terms of measures to transmit the coronavirus.” .
