PUC: Justice authorizes police force for removal of student occupation

The São Paulo Court of Justice issued a prohibition warrant, this Friday (23), in relation to the stoppage that is taking place in the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), including the authorized the POLICE FORCE USE if necessary for the removal of students who occupy the institution.

The warrant claims that the occupation of the students occurred quite aggressively, with the depredation of the assets and closing of various points of access to the building.

The demonstrations began on Wednesday (21), after the fall of the ceiling of one of the university buildings. According to the collectives and academic centers that adopted the movement, the protests aims to address cases of academic racism and the neglect of the structure of the faculty.

More than four students have been summoned. The period of 15 days was required to submit a defense.

According to the process, acts such as the depredation of the property, overthrown or blockage of doors and tickets, are under penalty of a daily fine of R $ 5,000.00, up to the limit of R $ 100,000.00.
