Putin and Lukashenko said so and then played an ice hockey match

The Russian president Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko after the talks they had today in St. Petersburg, they played a friendly match hockey on the ice rink of an ice school for children and young people located in the city.

Putin traditionally wears the number 11 jersey and Lukashenko the number 1. Famous hockey players such as Pavel Boure, Alexei Kasatonov, Valery Kamensky, Ilya Kovaltsuk and Vitsislav Fetisov played with them.

Earlier, Belarus state news agency BelTA reported that the two leaders discussed topical issues during their meeting at the Konstantinovsky Palace in the Strelna region. It was also reported that Putin drove Lukashenko before the talks.

The Russian president is a teacher of judo and sambo, loves mountain skiing and became interested in ice hockey at a mature age and has played regularly since. In May, for example, Putin took part in the official Night Hockey League match in Sochi. The previous meeting between Putin and Lukashenko in ice hockey took place in February 2020.
