The Russian president Vladimir Putin said to German Chancellor Olaf Solz he hoped Ukraine would take a “reasonable and constructive” position in the next round of talks, the Kremlin said in a statement.
Putin also told Soltz that Russia is open to dialogue with Ukraine provided all its demands are met.
“Russia is open to dialogue with the Ukrainian side, as well as with all those who want peace in Ukraine. “Provided, however, that all Russian demands will be met.”
He assured Olaf Solz that Russian forces were not bombing Kyiv and major Ukrainian cities, calling the Moscow catastrophe “gross propaganda.”

“The information about the alleged bombings of Kiev and other major cities is nothing but gross propaganda,” Putin said in a telephone interview with the German chancellor, according to a Kremlin statement.
Moscow and Kyiv have held two rounds of talks since Russia invaded Ukraine eight days ago in a “special military operation”, as the Kremlin calls it, and so far the two sides have reached an agreement on the need to open humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians.
