Putin instructed the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to develop measures for verifying transactions with digital assets

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to prepare proposals for the verification of digital assets and digital currency as part of the National Anti-Corruption Plan.

The corresponding decree “On the National Anti-Corruption Plan for 2021-2024” has been published on the portal of legal information.

The document says:

“The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation … the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, to prepare proposals on the procedure for verifying the accuracy and completeness of information on the ownership of digital financial assets, other digital rights, digital currency. The report on the results of the execution of this order must be submitted by November 15, 2021 “.

“The Federal Treasury will organize the All-Russian Anti-Corruption Forum of Financial and Economic Bodies. The report on the results of the execution of this order must be submitted by August 15, 2023 ”.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, by July 15, 2024, submit proposals for improving the legal regulation of issues related to the detection and suppression of corruption-related crimes, the subject of which is digital financial assets, other digital rights, digital currency.”
