Russia’s ambassador to North Korea, Alexander Matzegora, confirmed to the Russian newspaper that the president’s visit to Pyongyang would take place, adding that it was “actively being prepared.” “Vedomosti” also noted that Putin’s visit to Vietnam may take place already this month and most likely after his visit to North Korea. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia in September for talks with Putin. Kim visited the Vostochny spaceport in the Russian Far East, and Putin pledged to help North Korea build satellites.
