Putin: Mariupol “liberated” – No military operations in the city

The Russian president Vladimir Putin stated today that its besieged Ukrainian city Mariupol has been “released” and that no military operations are being conducted there, as the Kremlin recently announced.

It’s about version contrast with that of Kiev for what is happening in the area.

The Kremlin also announced that Putin told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a conversation earlier Tuesdaythat the Ukraine must “take responsibility” for the people who have drilled into Azofstal factory.

The Russian president even called them once again fighters who are in the steel industry to lay down their arms. “The lives of prisoners of war are guaranteed, medical care and treatment are in accordance with international legal standards,” the Kremlin said in a statement on the two leaders.

Lavrov rejected Kiev’s proposal for peace talks in Mariupol

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected Kiev’s offer to hold peace talks in the Ukrainian port of Mariupol and said it was “too early” to say who would mediate in any negotiations, according to Reuters.

Lavrov, speaking after meeting he had with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Moscowstated, however, that Russia is committed to a diplomatic solution in Ukrainian, through conversations.
