Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that a nuclear war can have no winners and should never break out, in comments released by the Kremlin.
As reported by Reuters, Putin’s comment is from his letter to the participants of the Conference on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
“We start from the fact that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and it should never break out, and we stand for equal and indivisible security for all members of the world community,” the Russian president said.
He added that “as a member state of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and one of its depositaries, Russia complies – consistently – with the letter and spirit of the Treaty.”
