Russian anti-aircraft guns have shot down dozens of Ukrainian weapons and are “crushing them like nuts,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a brief excerpt from an interview broadcast today.
According to the RIA news agency, which was the first to broadcast the comments, Putin answered a question about the weapons that the US supplies, saying that Russia is easy to deal with and has already destroyed dozens of them.
However, according to Reuters, the excerpt from the interview, which will be broadcast tomorrow, Sunday, makes it clear that Putin was actually answering a different question, which is not mentioned.
“Our anti-aircraft systems are crumbling like nuts. Dozens have been destroyed,” Putin said.
Although the exact type of weapons is not clear, Russia says it has destroyed both aircraft and missiles used by Ukraine.
