Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Solz had a telephone conversation on Friday morning.
During the conversation, according to the TASS news agency, Putin blamed Solz on Kyiv, which he said was trying to delay the progress of the peace talks.
He said Ukraine was making unrealistic demands and that “Russia is ready to look for solutions that are in line with its approach in principle.”
In turn, German Chancellor Olaf Solz called for a ceasefire in Ukraine, said a spokesman for the German government.
In their nearly hour-long conversation, Solz also stressed that the humanitarian situation must improve and that progress must be made in finding a diplomatic solution as soon as possible.
It should be noted that similar accusations against the Ukrainian side were launched by the Kremlin, emphasizing that the Russian delegation shows readiness to work faster on the Ukrainian side.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov also criticized US President Joe Biden for describing President Vladimir Putin as “personal insults”. He said Biden’s comments were fueled by irritability, fatigue and forgetfulness.
