Several countries and pharmaceutical companies they are trying to create cancer vaccines. Last year the UK government signed a deal with Germany-based BioNTech to start clinical trials for “personalised cancer treatments”, aiming to reach 10,000 patients by 2030.

As APE-MPE notes, the pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck & Co are developing one experimental cancer vaccine which in mid-stage research has been shown to cut the chance of recurrence or death from melanoma – the deadliest skin cancer – in half after three years of treatment.
