“I am married to a Russian woman and I have children, I will leave it like this.”

According to exiled publisher Roman Dobrokhotov of The Insider, a research agency banned for its investigations into alleged Kremlin corruption, Vorontsova had now divorced her Dutch businessman husband Jorit Fassen.

He did not give further details about when they divorced, but it is believed that it was before the start of the war. The couple has children, making Putin a grandfather. But he has never recognized the identity or work of his adult offspring, let alone given details of their private lives.

He explained that “nothing is a panacea”, but that “genetic tests can help, for example, in the pre-conception stage” to “determine if the parents are carriers of an unwanted gene”.

He said: “Genetic testing can help in the stage of pre-implantation diagnosis with in vitro fertilization, it can help parents to choose a healthy fetus. Katerina Tikonova, a 35-year-old divorced sister and deputy director of the Complex Systems Mathematics Research Institute at Moscow State University, is also from Putin’s previous marriage to former Kremlin first lady Ludmila.

Their half-sister is Louisa Rozova, an 18-year-old heiress, also known as Elizabeth Kryvonogich, from a previous relationship with multimillionaire Svetlana Krivonogich, 45, who now co-owns a large Russian bank.
