Putin's first appearance since Navalny's death – Russia's leader made no mention

His first public appearance was made by Vladimir Putin after his death Alexei Navalnywithout mentioning a single word about the death of his political opponent.

Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared in a video about the 31-year life of Gazprom, Russia's state-owned oil and gas company, and made no mention of the death of Alexei Navalny.

In the video, he says he is “pleased for the opportunity to congratulate the veterans of the national gas industry” and “half a million Gazprom employees.”

We remind you that Alexei Navalny's team pointed to Vladimir Putin as the culprit for the “Navalny murder”, with their representative Kira Jarmis to declare that “they killed him, as they planned three years ago”.

Meanwhile at least 340 arrests were made today in 30 Russian cities in events held in his memory Alexei Navalnyaccording to the human rights advocacy organization OVD-Info.

This is the largest wave of arrests in political mobilizations in Russia after September 2022, when more than 1,300 people were arrested in protests against the “partial conscription” ordered by Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.
