PV-BA President is rescued after invasion and kidnapping at the party headquarters

Bahia Green Party (PV) president Ivanilson Gomes was released last Saturday night (15) after being kidnapped on Friday (14). The Civil Police reported that he is safe and that a suspect of participating in the crime was arrested.

According to PV, on the afternoon of last Friday (14), criminals broke into the party’s headquarters, located in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood, in Salvador, stealing the employees present. Then the criminals kidnapped President Ivanilson Gomes.

According to the Civil Police, Ivanilson was rescued safely, taken to the Civil Police Anti -Sequestrical Specialized Police Station and gave testimony.

A suspect of participating in the kidnapping was arrested. More information about the case will not be disclosed so as not to disturb the investigations.

Prior to the rescue, PV’s national president, José Luiz Penna, issued a statement of solidarity, expressing “deep concern and outrage” with the crime and appealing to the authorities to act urgently to ensure Ivanilson’s safe rescue.

On the afternoon of last Saturday (15), the governor of Bahia, Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT), met with the Secretary of Public Security, Marcelo Werner; the general delegate of the Civil Police, Heloísa Brito; and the commander-general of the Military Police, Colonel Paulo Coutinho, to discuss the progress of the case and outline strategies to combat this type of crime.

The Civil Police Anti -Sequestrical Specialized Police Station is investigating the case and seeks to identify and arrest everyone involved in the kidnapping.
