Qatar, which played a key role in negotiations between Israel and Hamas, expressed deep regret over the new “Israeli aggression” against Gaza following the end of the truce.
“The continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip in the first hours after the end of the truce complicates mediation efforts and worsens the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip,” Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement this Friday (1st).
Qatar promised to take all necessary measures to restore calm.
The ministry stated that negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides continue, with the aim of resuming the truce.
Qatar condemns all forms of targeting civilians, collective punishments and attempts to forcibly displace Gaza residents, the ministry warned.
The country also demanded “an immediate ceasefire and guarantee the continuous and unimpeded flow of relief convoys and humanitarian aid, in a way that meets the real needs of the Strip’s residents”, adds the note.
