Qatar to host indirect Iran-US talks on reviving 2015 nuclear deal

Qatar will host indirect talks between Iran and the United States on the revival of Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with international forces, a spokesman for the Iranian nuclear delegation said today.

“Iran chose Qatar (to host them) because it is our friendly country,” Mohammad Maradi told the semi-official ISNA news agency.

Earlier, Iran announced that the revival of the nuclear deal depended on Washington.

European Union Foreign Minister Joseph Borrell also visited the Islamic Republic on Saturday and said Iran and the EU had agreed to resume talks on Iran’s nuclear program with the United States “in the coming days”.

Borrell traveled to Tehran in a bid to revive talks to salvage the 2015 Iran nuclear deal between Tehran and other signatories – China, Germany, France, Britain, Russia and the United States – which have fallen. in a quagmire since March.

Iran and the United States are indirectly involved through mediators in the Vienna talks.
