The Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media has included the website of the Qiwi payment system in the register of information dissemination organizers (ORI). The corresponding entry appeared in the Roskomnadzor database on February 9. By law, the Qiwi service is now required to store data on the reception, transmission and processing of voice and written messages of users, images and videos for a year, and store the messages themselves for six months. In addition, it obliges to transfer relevant information to representatives of law enforcement agencies upon request.
Qiwi is a very popular payment service that is often used for online purchases, payment for services, as well as for transferring money from one country to another. Inclusion in the ARI registry imposes serious obligations on Qiwi. At the moment, there are more than 350 entries in the list, there are Yandex, VKontakte, Avito and many other services.
