Storage company QNAP Systems has released the QM2-2P2G2T PCIe expansion card, which adds two M.2 slots and two 2.5GbE ports to the system. The card can be used not only in a storage with a network connection, but also in a PC or server, gaining gain in the volume and speed of the storage subsystem and in the speed of data transfer over the network.

2.5GBASE-T ports support connection at lower speeds. The card is equipped with a PCIe Gen3 x4 interface. It is wired into ports and M.2 slots (two lanes in each), designed for drives up to M.2 2280. Thermal sensors allow you to monitor the temperature of the SSD in real time. Their readings are used to control the operation of the cooling system.

The list of compatible OS in case of NAS includes QTS or QuTS hero, and in case of PC or server – Windows 10 (1809 or newer), Linux (?? 4.20 / 5.x), Windows Server 2019. For Windows and Linux, you need a network controller driver Intel I225LM.
