In addition to the shape, what makes the colorful brooch special is the series of letters that make up the word «Minoru», none other than the name of King Edward VII's most successful thoroughbred. The steed competed between 1908 and 1910, boasting a decent career that made him one of the best colts of the time, but among his most striking victories was the race at Epsom, in 1909, which allowed to then King Edward to become the first reigning monarch to win the Derby.
