Camilla has her own style and her own reference ateliers. This means that all in all his choices are rather predictable. For the evening at the palace she instead decides to give us a pinch of amazement while we observe her immersed in the folds of midnight blue silk on the red carpet of Versailles.

The dress code of the evening did not include a tiara (some in France turned up their noses at the event which took place on the anniversary of the abolition of the monarchy in the country) but this did not prevent the real to wear one of the most precious jewels in his treasure chest. The necklace and bracelet of sapphires and diamonds, now at Camilla’s disposal, are a wedding gift from George VI to his daughter Elizabeth, a set dating back to the Victorian era. With those jewelshowever combined with the diamond and sapphire tiara, the sovereign made her debut at the first state dinner of King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in honor of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Dior fashion house is not the first time it has dressed Queen Camilla. In fact, we remember the cream-colored outfit shown off for the opening day of Royal Ascot. Maybe the two dresses are part of the same order and this midnight blue one has been waiting for months to see the light? The state visit to France was in fact postponed due to the various unrest (it was originally scheduled for March 2023).
