Queen Elizabeth: Charles thanked Britons and the world for messages of support

THE King Charles thanked the people from Britain but also from the whole world for the messages of support which he received after her death Queen Elizabeth.

THE Elizabeth’s official funeral will take place today at Westminster Abbeyending a 10-day mourning period during which hundreds of thousands of people paid tribute to Britain’s monarch, who has died aged 96.

“Over the past 10 days my wife and I were deeply touched by several messages of support and comfort which we received from this country, but also from the whole world,” Charles, who made ceremonial visits to the United Kingdom after his mother’s death, said in a statement.

“In London, Edinburgh, Hillsborough and Cardiff we were very moved by everyone who stepped into the process of coming and honoring my dear mother’s lifetime of service and late queen”.

“As we prepare to say our final goodbyes, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the countless people who have been a force of support and encouragement for my family and me in this time of grief.”

After the ceremony in Westminster Abbey, as reported by APE-MPE, the royal coffin will be moved to Windsor, where she will later be buried next to her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip.

The royal burial will end a period of national mourning in Britain, although the royal family’s mourning period will continue for another seven days.
