Queen Elizabeth: Famous British artists mourn her death

THE queen elizabeth iiits longest-reigning monarch Britain, passed away yesterday Thursday (8/9) at the age of 96. Many artists from all over the world expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the deceased.

THE Helen Mirren, a British actress who played Queen Elizabeth on the big screen, said: “I mourn with the rest of my country at the passing of a great queen. I am proud to call myself (a) Elizabethan. If there was a definition of royalty, Elizabeth of Windsor embodied it.”

THE Elton John, British singer and songwriter: “Along with the rest of the nation, I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. She was an inspiration and led the country through some of the most important and dark times in our history with grace, dignity and genuine loving warmth. “Queen Elizabeth has been a huge part of my life from my childhood to this day (including yesterday) and I will miss her very much.”

On his part, Daniel Craig, an actor who rose to fame playing James Bond, said: “Like so many others, I was deeply saddened to hear the news and my thoughts go out to the Royal Family and all those who loved them. She leaves behind an incomparable legacy and her loss will be felt.”

The legendary Paul McCartney, founding member of the Beatles, said: “God bless Queen Elizabeth II. May he rest in peace. Long live the King!”

The rock star Ozzy Osbourne, again, asserted: “I mourn like all my country because of the death of our great queen. With a heavy heart, I declare that the thought of England without Queen Elizabeth II is disastrous.”

Welsh singer Tom Jones said: “Queen Elizabeth II has been a constant presence and img of inspiration throughout my life. She was a calm force in difficult times, her dedication was impeccable and her commitment to duty unrivaled. It is an honor and a blessing to have lived during her reign.”

British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “Throughout my life, the Queen has been the steadfast anchor not only of Britain and our beloved Commonwealth, but also a img of inspiration to the whole world.” “He will be remembered as a selfless beacon of love, understanding and respect for our fellow man, regardless of race or creed.”

THE Mick Jagger, rock star and leader of the Rolling Stones, wrote: “Throughout my life, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been there. In my childhood, I remember watching the highlights of her wedding on TV. I remember her as a beautiful girl, (I remember her) and as the much-loved grandmother of the nation.”

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue said: “At the events I’ve had the honor of attending in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II, her energy, compassion and aura have been uniquely brilliant. I was and still am in awe.”

Finally, Andrea Bocelli, the Italian tenor, said: “It has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to sing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on several occasions. I am deeply saddened by the news of her death. We have lost a special figure in modern history: an extraordinary woman, a charismatic cornerstone of society.”
