Queen Elizabeth II appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to receive a salute on Thursday as soldiers and officers return from Horse Guards Parade following the conclusion of the Trooping the Color ceremony.
Dressed in an Angela Kelly ensemble and matching hat, she watched the troops pass by with a cane in hand. The queen was accompanied by her cousin, the Duke of Kent.
The monarch opted to wear a blue Charmelaine wool gown embellished with pearls and diamonds around the neckline and cascading down the front of the coat. It’s the same outfit she was photographed in for a new official portrait released by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
She is also wearing the guards emblem.
The Duke of Kent is the Colonel of the Scots Guard and is wearing a Scots Guard robe and garter-sash forage cap, adorned with numerous medals and decorations.
