The coffin with the body of Queen Elizabeth II arrived at Buckingham Palace in London, England, on Tuesday (13). Before, he was in Scotland, where the monarch died, last Thursday (8), and passed by the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Cathedral.
Tens of thousands of mourners gathered to observe the processions in Scotland. In London, large numbers of subjects left flowers and messages in the gardens of the royal parks.
The body was airlifted to the RAF Northolt military air base. King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla and other members of the Windsor clan awaited the coffin’s arrival at Buckingham.
The body will spend the rest of the night in the Palace, where only family members will have access. On Wednesday morning (14), he will follow in procession to Westminster Hall, at the Palace of Westminster.
The coffin will be on display until September 19. On this date, the state funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey. Afterwards, you will be transported to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where the burial will take place.
