Elizabeth II attended the great Windsor show “A Gallop Through History», Which starts the celebrations of Platinum Jubilee. The presence of the ninety-six year old sovereign it was uncertain until the end. Instead she came, showing herself to great mood (you see gallery under). And well in great shapedespite the stick she has been forced to lean on for months now due to mobility problems that forced her to jump (also) the important Queen’s Speech during the opening ceremony of the Parliament. Dressed in blue, Elizabeth, accompanied by his son Edoardo, was welcomed by the Coldstream Guards, the RAF Regiment and the Royal Navy. In addition to the standing ovation of over five thousand spectators. While it was being sung God save the QueenHer Majesty sat in the stands of the show which was attended by 600 horses (there were also those of the queen), 1,300 artistsan orchestra of 75 musicians and a children’s choir.
The organizers conceived the evening as a historical ride that told about Great Britain from the time of Elizabeth I to that of the current sovereign. The diva took care of interpreting the ava of Elizabeth II Helen Mirren. Another Hollywood star also attended the big event: Tom Cruise. That in his speech there was a great admirer of the queen: «He met presidents, world leaders, people from all walks of life. Her dignity, her devotion and her kindness are known all over the world. I love it“. But the most exciting moment, for The Queen, was undoubtedly the one in which Lady Louise Windsoreighteen year old daughter of Edoardo and Sophie Wessex, paid homage to Prince Philip parading in the final moments of the parade with the gig he inherited from his grandfather.
“A Gallop Through History” took place in windsor park, a short distance from the castle where His Majesty now lives on a permanent basis. The queen – who a few days ago we had seen equally smiling at the Royal Windsor Horse Show – attended the military and equestrian exhibitions, often exchanging comments, and some laugh, with Simon Brooks-Ward, a longtime friend who sat next to her. And at one point she even opened her purse for pull out a fuchsia lipstick with which she touched up her lips. A little quirk that demonstrates how The Queen, despite the inevitable ailments of her age, is willing to better enjoy her celebrations for her seventy years on her throne.
