Queen Elizabeth: Rumors about her health are rampant

Cancel her scheduled visit to Northern Ireland Queen Elizabeth as her doctors recommended the next few days to rest. The announcement was made on Wednesday (20/10) by Buckingham Palace without giving further information, however the announcement sparked rumors about her state of health.

«“The queen reluctantly accepted medical advice for rest for the next few days.” announced the Palaces as broadcast by the Athens News Agency, citing Reuters and AFP.

A source said the queen’s decision was not related to the coronavirus. «Her Majesty is in a good mood and is disappointed that he will not be able to visit Northern Ireland“where he was to take part in a series of obligations today and tomorrow,” the palace said.

Elizabeth rests in Windsor Castle

Elizabeth rests at Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest still inhabited castle.

The Queen sent “her warmest wishes to the people of Northern Ireland and looks forward to visiting her in the future”, the announcement concludes.

It is noted that recently the doctors forbade the monarch to drink a martini at night, while a few days ago the 95-year-old monarch was seen for the first time after seven years with a cane at a ceremony in Wales.

And while her health is good, Queen Elizabeth – who was seen holding a cane on Thursday in Wales – is now being called in by doctors to stop the evening martinis as she prepares for one of the most important periods of her reign, writes the Vanity Fair.

Seven decades on the throne

The 95-year-old queen has been on the throne for almost seven decades. She was 25 years old when she was crowned queen on February 6, 1952, following the death of her father.

Just this week, Elizabeth turned down a magazine offer to give her the title of “Elder of the Year”, saying she felt very young.

The “Elder of the Year” award is given to those who have made a significant contribution to public life, including the Queen’s late husband, Prince Philip, and former British Prime Minister John Major.
