Queen Letizia and Jill Biden, a first time in flamenco style

Hidalgo’s silk dress has a tapered silhouette and short sleeves that leave the shapely arms in view. The dress was made to measure taking inspiration from the very flashy and festive collection, called Gitanospresented in 2019 on the catwalks of We Love Flamenco, the fashion week dedicated to Andalusian fashion. A trend that seems to have its lucky moment: just a few days ago Dior has chosen Sevilleits culture and local craftsmanship for the Cruise 2023 collection.

For José Hidalgo it is a debut at Letizia’s court. The queen is working a lot on her wardrobe by inserting not only clothes from her past or also belonging to her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia, but she is adding to her list of designers some new names and above all some small ventures not only chromatic but also in design.

After all, that of Doña Letizia with the wife of the president of the United States was a special meeting that deserved a more sophisticated outfit than usual. After the private meeting, the two went to visit the headquarters of the Spanish Cancer Association of which the queen is honorary president. A cause that is also very close to Jill Biden’s heart, especially since her husband’s son, Beau, was torn from life by a brain tumor.

The flamenco dress can therefore be part of a territorial marketing operation but it can also accompany the wearer to a place full of suffering and with its joy turn on the spotlight of hope. Real fashion, as we have now learned, lends itself to a great variety of messages to launch.
