The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, met this Tuesday (11) with the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes. At the meeting, the possibility of the Health Ministry having more money to fight the pandemic was discussed.
After the meeting, Queiroga posted a video on his social media in which he thanked Guedes for having received him and confirmed that the pandemic was the central theme of the meeting. “The Ministry of Economy has been a very strong fortress for us at the Ministry of Health. There was no lack of resources, extraordinary credits and the support of Minister Paulo Guedes, especially in relation to our vaccine acquisition policy”, he declared.
Guedes, in turn, said that “there was never a lack of money for health and there will be no shortage”. The Minister of Economy highlighted the fact that Brazil has evolved in the amount of vaccines applied. “It has strongly lowered the [número de] deaths and hospitalizations. Brazil [está] returning to work and the economy reactivating”, he guaranteed.
