Convocation of Marcelo Queiroga to the Senate
The Senate Human Rights Commission approved the convening of the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, to provide information on the Technical Note that dealt with the use of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of Covid-19. The note implied that hydroxychloroquine was effective and safe to treat Covid-19, but questioned the effectiveness and safety of vaccines.
Vehicle production in Brazil
Vehicle production in Brazil fell by 27.4% in January 2022, compared to the same month last year. This is the worst result for the period in 19 years. The data are from the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Anvisa denies self-test records
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) denied three requests for Covid-19 self-test records. According to the agency, the reasons for the denial will be forwarded to each company. The resolution was published in the Official Gazette (DOU).
Entry of Brazilians to the USA
Brazilians will have easier and faster entry into the United States. Brazil joined the so-called “Global Entry” program, which aims to make the immigration process to the North American country easier. The entry procedure can be carried out at selected airports.
Death of Moise Kabagambe
The Senate approved the conduction of investigations in Rio de Janeiro to follow the case of the death of Moïse Kabagambe, a young Congolese murdered on the 24th. Senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE) also requests that a debate be promoted on of refugees in Brazil.
