Who doesn’t love eating at award-winning places? And those fancy restaurants with incredible inventions? Of course! But let’s be honest: there are days when all we want is a good dish made or a comforting dish. And if it’s with Minas Gerais seasoning, that’s even better!
THE Hot from the Mouth opened in April, is a charming restaurant in Pinheiros, located in a 1949 townhouse full of personality. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the interior, with an irresistible showcase, full of cakes, cheese bread and other delicacies that attract attention.
The name of the house pays homage to the rich culture of Minas Gerais and is inspired by an excerpt from the work “Grandes Sertões: Veredas”, by Guimarães Rosa, which says “The backlands produced me, then swallowed me, then spat me out of the mouth” and is printed on an artistic piece right at the entrance. The balcony, in front of a huge fruit tree, intensifies the country town atmosphere—although the works around it remind us that we are in Pinheiros.
The menu, signed by the chef Andreza Biagioni offers breakfast, brunch and lunch. Among the options, the hearty and tasty PF stands out, available from Monday to Friday. You can choose between chicken (R$49), sausage (R$49) or steak (R$56), accompanied by rice, red bean tutu, cabbage, vinaigrette and popped egg.

The mushroom rice broth made with whole grain cateto rice, shitake, portobello, shimeji and mushrooms, toasted onion, watercress and lemon oil (R$55) or the half-cured ravioli, smoked tomato sauce, basil oil, parmesan cheese and mini arugula (R$66) are good options for those who avoid animal protein. Complete the menu of dishes: Galada do Paraíso with pururuca and gherkin pickles with pequi and scented pepper (R$ 49); chicken with okra, creamy angu and fried okra (R$49); breaded fish, creamed corn, sautéed spinach and rice (R$54); and the Diadorim pork ribs (R$74), made with coffee sauce, puree, cornbread farofa and braised cabbage.

Among the reinforced coffee options, forget the Americanized brunches, and embark on options with a Minas Gerais accent: Ovo cocó and bread on the grill (R$ 25) made with corn cream, soft egg and green scent on natural fermentation bread, sandwiches such as the Cróc Minas (R$ 48), with royale ham, semi-cured cheese, creamed corn au gratin and cracked egg on house bread, meat pie with jiló (R$ 13), cornmeal bread (R$ 8) and ginger and spice cake (R$14) make any day start off right.
Also on the menu are treats such as Pudim da Cida (R$24) made with coffee with milk, a recipe from one of the employees at Fazenda dos Montans, and Da Vó (R$34), French toast with vanilla ice cream and passion fruit syrup . To accompany, coffees made with house beans: espresso (R$ 9), filtered v60 (R$ 14) and nine other options.
