Rumors that AMD, following Nvidia, will release video cards specifically for miners, appeared over the weekend, and now they have been continued. Reportedly, there will be at least three such models – Radeon RX 5700XTB, RX 5700B and RX 5500XTB. The letter “B” (from the English word Blockchain) characterizes the direction of potential novelties.

AMD follows in the footsteps of NVIDIA and does not envisage the use of the latest technologies in video cards for cryptocurrency miners, such as HBM2 memory and RDNA2 architecture. At least one of the models will receive 40 computing units and 2560 stream processors. It’s not hard to guess that it will be a Radeon RX 5700XTB.
So far, no more details, but one can think that new items will be presented quite soon: probably by the end of March. The release of such models is very important, as it will allow to at least slightly reduce the shortage of video cards for gamers and, thereby, reduce their cost.
