Recently, a major patch for the game Cyberpunk 2077 was released, which, among other things, brought support for ray tracing to AMD video cards.

And now the first tests of Radeon RX 6000 cards appeared on the Web in one of the most resource-intensive games at the moment.

As you can see, the performance of new AMD products drops dramatically when ray-traced effects are activated. For example, the performance of the Radeon RX 6800 XT drops three to four times depending on the mode. This is reminiscent of the situation with the GeForce RTX 20 lineup and the first ray-traced games.
As a result, AMD cards are far behind the competing GeForce RTX 30 adapters with active tracing. For example, if the RTX 3080 is ahead of the RX 6800 XT in 4K by 14%, then when you enable tracing effects – already by 60-80%. And in Full HD it is almost doubled.
It must also be said that the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards are basically not capable of delivering playable performance in Cyberpunk 2077 with 4K ray tracing. In Full HD, the RX 6700 XT also copes with the task, but at the limit.

True, GeForce cards in 4K are also bad, but RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 can at least provide the minimum required 25-30 fps. On the other hand, Nvidia adapters have a trump card in the form of DLSS technology, which works wonders. For example, in 4K, when DLSS is activated, the performance of the RTX 3070 rises from a meager 6 fps to a more than comfortable 42 fps, that is, seven times!
