Rafael Lucchesi is appointed to the BNDES Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved this Friday (3) the nomination of Rafael Lucchesi, Director of Education and Technology at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), as a member of the collegiate. Lucchesi arrives as president of the body.

Walter Baère, who chaired the Board of Directors, was appointed to the board of directors.

The president of the BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, who was appointed last week by the Board, had already announced the appointment of eight directors.

With the nomination and appointment of Baère, the executive board of the development bank will be complete – by statute, there are ten members on the board, including the president.

Mercadante’s inauguration is scheduled for next Monday (6) at the BNDES headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro. The event, at 10 am, will be well attended, as it has been announced that it will have the presence of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Vice President Geraldo Alckmin.

Alckmin also commands the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), recreated by the Lula government, and to which the BNDES is once again subordinate.

Lula will have another agenda in Rio on Monday: in the afternoon, he will accompany Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD), at an inauguration.
