Rage Against The Machine will no longer tour or perform live, says drummer

Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk used his social media this Wednesday (03) to announce that the band will no longer tour or perform live shows.

“I know that many people are waiting for us to announce new dates for all the canceled RATM shows. I don’t want to bother anyone or myself anymore”, says the note.

The text further mentions: “So, while there is some kind of information that this may happen in the future, I inform you that RARM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live together again. I feel sorry for those who expected this to happen. I wish so.”

In the caption, Brad also thanks each of his fans for their support. He did not mention the reason for the suspension of the performances. So far, there has been no statement from the other members of the band.

On the rock band's official website, there are two announcements canceling shows. In 2022, vocalist Zack de la Rocha injured his Achilles tendon during a performance in Chicago and on medical advice, RATM canceled the UK and European tour, which would have started in August of that year.

Three months later, a note signed by the singer was published on the website, also canceling the North American tour performances. “Unfortunately, this is a time that requires a lot of work and healing. I have a severe tear in my left Achilles tendon and only 8% of my tendon is intact. I hate canceling shows. I hate to disappoint our fans. You all waited patiently to see us and it never went unnoticed by me. I never take it for granted. For you I have the greatest gratitude and respect”, mentioned Zack.

The first show after the 11-year hiatus took place in Wisconsin, in the United States, in July 2022. Famous for its strong political demarcation, Rage Against The Machine returned to the stage for an intense 16-song performance.
