There are new details about the simplifications that Lada cars will be subjected to due to the lack of electronic components. The source writes that AvtoVAZ is removing modern electronic systems from Lada Granta.
According to drom.ru, Lada Granta will be produced without ABS, ESP, ERA-GLONASS, and also without an airbag. In addition, Lada Granta will lose one or two oxygen sensors (lambda probes), rolling back in terms of emissions to about Euro-2. The engine control unit and its firmware will become simpler.
Strictly speaking, the rollback to Euro-2 is due not so much to saving on sensors as to saving time. The task was set to release the first “ragged” Lada Granta for sale in May this year. If the requirements are reduced to Euro-3 or Euro-4, then the tests will take a lot of time, there, according to the regulations, it is necessary to drive 80,000 or 120,000 km, respectively, in order to measure exhaust toxicity in degradation dynamics. There is no such requirement for Euro-2.

It is noted that in addition to simplifying the design, Grant will be transferred completely to domestic components. Import in the car is still decent, but the reserves are found.
Lada Niva Legend and Lada Niva Travel plan to do the same at the plant. At the same time, a similar fate may await Lada Vesta, but so far they are talking about it cautiously, uncertainly. Lada Largus and Lada XRAY have not yet fallen under total import substitution.
As we already reported, due to the lack of electronics, AvtoVAZ has already begun to produce Lada without ABS.
