A heavy rain hit the Southeast of the country this Monday (28), while a large part of the population followed the match between Brazil and Switzerland for the World Cup. In the city of São Paulo, in less than an hour, streams overflowed and there were records of flooding. In Espírito Santo, the precipitation left 132 people homeless.

According to information from the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM), a flood interrupted the circulation of trains on Line-12 Safira, between the Engenheiro Manoel Feio stations, in Itaquaquecetuba (Greater São Paulo), and Jardim Romano (east zone of São Paulo). , around 13:50. Circulation was back to normal around 3:45 pm.

Throughout the afternoon, the Climate Emergency Management Center of the City of São Paulo (CGE) issued several alerts guiding the population about the flooding points. At 3:50 pm, 12 points with water accumulation were recorded.

The publication of the CGE informed the end of the states of attention and alert in the capital, which started to register “weak rains and moderate points throughout the city”.

In Espírito Santo, the State Coordination for Protection and Civil Defense of the Military Fire Brigade reported, in the latest published alert, that 132 people are homeless and 62 are homeless due to the rains.

The state faces difficulties with heavy rainfall at least since Thursday (24). On Friday (25), Espírito Santos recorded the highest volume of rainfall in Brazil in 24 hours.

The storm was also responsible for the temporary suspension of the circulation of the train that transports passengers in the direction of Cariacica (ES) to Belo Horizonte (MG). People who were unable to board can reschedule the ticket or ask for a refund of the amount invested. Circulation is maintained, with the possibility of delay, between Belo Horizonte and Cariacica.

In Rio de Janeiro, at 1:25 pm this Monday, the Rio Operations Center published that the state was in the Mobilization Stage due to the high level of rainfall. In the latest update, at 2:15 pm, Rio was still in the mobilization stage and rain nuclei were forming in Niterói.

On Twitter, the National Institute of Meteorology warned of the forecast of heavy rains until this Tuesday (29) in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Cataria, Pará, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso , Paraná and the Federal District.
