Rain: Driver disappears after being taken by flood in SP

A driver disappeared in the neighborhood of Capão Redondo in the south of São Paulo, after the vehicle where it was being dragged by a flood caused by heavy rains who hit the city on Thursday (6).

According to the Fire Department, shortly before disappearing, the victim kept in touch with the family. A young man’s cousin informed his corporation that he would have been taken by a flood while driving around India’s Marmele Street.

Around 11 pm, a fire team went to the scene and located only the driver’s vehicle.

In the early hours of Friday (7) the corporation searched the young man in the region of Ponte da Solidarity. The searches were suspended and will return this morning.

According to the State Civil Defense, 22 flooding points were recorded in the state capital. In addition, the organ received 40 calls for tree falls, two of them on vehicles.
