Rain in RS: With 55 municipalities affected, the state has a warning for new storms

The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul reported this Monday (30) that the state has 55 cities affected by the rains that have hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul since the 21st. The forecast is for new storms in the coming hours.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a danger warning for a storm that extends to part of the state, starting in the early afternoon of this Monday and ending scheduled for 12pm next Tuesday (1st).

According to the agency, there is a possibility of rain between 30 and 60 mm/h, intense winds, as well as hail in some regions of the state. Rain can cause electricity cuts, falling trees, damage to crops and flooding.

The metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, the Southwest of Rio Grande do Sul, the Southeast, the Western and Eastern Center of the state and the Northwest are some of the areas that Inmet warns could be affected by the new storms.

In the state, the number of homeless people is already 136 people, while the number of displaced people is 429, according to Civil Defense.
