Rain in the Northeast, drought in the Center-South and cold in the South: see what the weather is like in Brazil

The dry air mass continues in the Central region of Brazil, contributing to the drop in air humidity and the feeling of heat in the middle of the afternoon of this Sunday (26). The constant humidity that comes from the sea causes moderate to heavy rain from the coast of São Paulo to the coastal lowlands region, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Temperatures remain low in the southern half of the country due to the action of a cold air mass. There is a risk of frost for the areas of the gaucho campaign, part of the southern region and the western border.

Instabilities help in the formation of heavy clouds during the day in the extreme north of Brazil. In the East of the Northeast region, rains occur throughout Sunday, also due to the influence of the winds that blow against the sea.

In an interview with CNN Climatempo meteorologist Paula Soares pointed out the main highlights of the weather forecast in the country for the next few days.

“It continues to rain in the Northeast, drier weather in the Center-South areas. In the south, it will be cold all week, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will be cold for now, but it will warm up in the next few days”, said Paula.

This Sunday, the cold is highlighted in the South, especially in the morning, with frost in the Gaucho campaign. Cloudiness varies throughout the day in Rio Grande do Sul, most of Santa Catarina and Paraná, but without rain. On the northern coast of Santa Catarina, in Curitiba and on the coast of Paraná, cloudy skies and drizzle.

At the Southeast , the winds that blow from the sea increase the cloudiness between the south of Minas Gerais, the state of Rio, south and east of São Paulo and the rain happens at various times. Volumes are high in Rio and along the coast of São Paulo. Temperatures drop in the region. It rains at any time in the east of Espírito Santo and in the other areas, sun and firm weather predominate.

The minimum temperatures in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo are 15°C and 13°C, respectively.

At the Midwest , this Sunday, the cloudiness increases in areas of the Southwest of Mato Grosso and over the West and South of Mato Grosso do Sul, but it does not rain. According to the meteorologist, the day is sunny and with good weather in most of the Midwest. The relative humidity of the air remains low in the hottest hours of the day.

“There is no system, for now, in sight, that will bring a little more moisture so we continue with the same scenario throughout the Center-West of Brazil”, says Paula. Mato Grosso do Sul may present a little more cloudiness.

“But for Mato Grosso, Goiás and the Federal District region, there are also days until the turn of the month, at least with a lot of dryness, no rain, plenty of sun, cold dawns but afternoons already getting hot and the relative humidity of the air is even below 20 some days in the afternoon, so it’s an alert situation”, he adds.

The sun appears again northeast region , and rain is forecast only in its northern and eastern ranges. There is an emphasis on the passage of a cold front near the coast of Bahia, which increases the chance of rain and winds in the south and east of the state. The intensity should be moderate in the extreme south and northeast of the state.

According to the meteorologist, the weather is more severe and the rain can hit Alagoas and Sergipe at any time of the day, with stronger intensity and volumes that can be high. In this case, the precipitation is caused more by the constant humidity that comes from the sea, and indirectly by the cold front, which is further from the coast of these states.

“In the Northeast region, we continue to monitor because we have been experiencing this persistent rain for many weeks. It has been raining very persistently for several weeks now. This maintains a very high risk for slippage because the ground is already very soggy,” she says.

At the North In the country, cloudiness and rainfall increase in the extreme north and rain is forecast at various times in the north of Amazonas, in Roraima, in the west and north of Pará and across Amapá.

The weather remains firm and dry in Tocantins, just as it does not rain in Rondônia, in the south of Pará and Amazonas and on Acre.
