The meteorologist at the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) Marcelo Schneider stated, in an interview with CNN this Friday (8), that the rainfall area in the southern region of the country should be concentrated on the border between the states of Rio Grande do Sul it’s from Santa Catarina .
According to updated numbers, at least 42 people died after the heavy rains that hit southern Brazil. To date, more than 3,000 people have been rescued in the region. More than 10,000 people remain homeless or homeless.

“In relation to overflows, this has been known for decades here in Rio Grande do Sul. In terms of quota, this is the second most serious in the state’s history, only surpassed by [enchentes] from the 1940s and 1950s”, highlighted Marcelo.
