The alert was made on social networks by the city of Pará de Minas around 20h. Foxes

A bridge that provided access to the municipality of Raposos, in the north of Minas Gerais, was taken by water after heavy rains persisted in the state. The Fire Department says that the bridge is the only one that gives access to the city.

According to the Fire Department of Minas Gerais, in the region, a crater was also opened by the waters along the MG30 highway towards Belo Horizonte to Nova Lima and could cause new landslides.

The municipality of Raposos is located in the north of the state, 630 km from Nova Lima, where a dam overflowed on Saturday (8).

The state also registered rockslides in Capitol Hill, where eight people died and two are missing.

Santa Luzia

In Santa Luzia, the flood of the Rio das Velhas caused the waters to take one of the main roads in the city, Avenida Beira-Rio, and block two bridges, according to information from the portal Noticiando Santa Luzia. With that, the city was divided.

On the BR-040, the stretch between km 562 and 563, in the municipality of Nova Lima, is completely closed due to the risk of a new overflow at the Pau Branco mine dam.

“Runway has not yet been completely cleaned. Are authorized to pass only emergency vehicles. No release forecast”, informed the PRF.
