The heavy rains that hit the state of Pernambuco in recent days have already left at least 80 dead. In addition, the number of homeless and displaced already exceeds 4,000.
Due to this situation, seven states have already offered help to Pernambuco with the sending of firefighter teams and assistance to the population. The federal government promised the destination of resources through the Ministry of Regional Development.
For the population that wants to help people affected by the rains, entities and authorities are mobilizing to receive and allocate donations. See below some possibilities to help the victims of the rains.
Recife City Hall
The City Hall of Recife organized the Recife Solidário campaign to collect donations of groceries, clothing and mattresses for the victims of the rains.
Donations can be delivered to the City Hall headquarters building, at Cais do Apolo; at Sítio da Trindade, in Casa Amarela; and at Dona Lindu Park, in Boa Viagem. In addition, the 11 Drogaria São Paulo stores in the state of Pernambuco are receiving donations.
“Those interested can also make their donations at the collection points located in the malls Recife, Tacaruna, Boa Vista and RioMar. The stores of the Big supermarket chain in Casa Forte, on Avenida Caxangá, in Boa Viagem, on Avenida Recife and in Shopping Tacaruna are also available as places for donations”, informed the City Hall.

Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE)
The Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) is receiving basic necessities that will be delivered to community associations that deal with families affected by the waters. Basic hygiene items, food, blankets and clothes are being received.
“Donations must be delivered in the hall of the University’s Rectory (R. Bacatuba – Cidade Universitária), which will be a collection point for donations”, informed UFPE.
One-stop Favelas Central (CUFA)
The NGO Central Única das Favelas (CUFA) receives donations to support people affected by the rains in both Pernambuco and Alagoas. The money raised is used to distribute food, hygiene items and direct support to those affected.
According to the CUFA office in Pernambuco, donations can be made via pix to the CNPJ 35.433.107/0001-08 or the email [email protected].
For those who prefer to donate in person, there are collection points in Alagoas (R. Sampaio Dória, 152 – Ponta Grossa, Maceió) and Pernambuco (Av. Norte Miguel Arraes de Alencar, 5300 – Casa Amarela, Recife).
There is also the option to donate through the Ifood delivery app. For this, the user must go to the “Profile” tab of the application and look for the “Donations” option, where he will find CUFA among the options (image below).

Pernambuco OAB
The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) of Pernambuco is collecting donations of non-perishable food, personal hygiene products and coats.
Donations can be made at the headquarters of OAB Pernambuco, at Rua do Imperador Pedro II, 346, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood of Recife.
Sport, Náutico and Santa Cruz
The main soccer clubs in Pernambuco are also mobilized to receive donations.
Sport Club do Recife reported that the headquarters of Ilha do Retiro serves as a storage point for warm clothes, mattresses, cleaning and personal hygiene material, and non-perishable food. Donations can be made from 7am to 7pm.
Náutico also reported that the Aflitos stadium is receiving donations for those displaced by the rains. “Donations of food, clothing and hygiene materials can be made from next Monday (30), from 9 am to 6 pm, at the secretariat, by anyone”, reported Náutico.
Santa Cruz is now receiving donations at its Social Headquarters, at Avenida Beberibe, 1160.
