The number of people killed as a result of the heavy rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul last month rose to 161, according to a report released by Civil Defense this Tuesday morning (21). The state also reports 806 injured and 85 missing.
In total, 464 municipalities were affected by climate events and 2,339,508 people were affected across the state. Of these, 581,633 are homeless and 72,561 are in temporary shelters.
According to the state government's balance sheet, at least 39,589 customers of Companhia Riograndense de Saneamento (Corsan) are without water supply. This corresponds to 1% of total customers. Regarding electricity, 72,566 points in CEEE Equatorial are without electricity, which corresponds to 3.9% of customers. RGE Sul has 93,700 points without electricity, or 3.1% of customers without electricity.
