More rain forecast
While several municipalities deal with the consequences of the historic flood that hit Rio Grande do Sul, the weather forecast indicates that by Monday (13) it could rain twice as much as the average for the month of May in a large part of the state, according to Climatempo .
The historical series from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) shows that in the month of May the average rainfall in the state of Rio Grande do Sul is 140 to 180 millimeters. On the south coast, the average is between 100 and 140 millimeters.
From Friday (10) until Monday (13), however, Climatempo's forecast is that some municipalities will accumulate up to 330 millimeters of rain.
According to the meteorology institute, the most affected region should be the Serra Gaúcha — where rivers originate that flow to the Jacuà and Taquari Valleys and were heavily hit by the storms of the last few days.
