The rains that have hit Rio Grande do Sul since last Saturday (21) have left almost 500 people out of their homes and are already affecting 52 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul.
The storms are coming from an intense cold front. The updated data was released by the RS Civil Defense this Saturday (28).
According to Civil Defense, 143 people are homeless and another 349 are displaced, totaling 16,166 affected.
The central part of the state is the most affected, an area that includes the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre and goes to the West and Northwest of Rio Grande do Sul.
Due to the rains that have hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul since the beginning of the week, the agency has already issued 57 alerts by the end of this Thursday morning (26).
Also this Thursday (26), residents recorded the rains that hit the state and flooded some streets in the region’s neighborhoods. Look:
The large amount of water raised the level of GuaĆba, however, MetSul points out that the overflow of the lake in areas of Porto Alegre is out of the question.
From this Friday (27th), the forecast was that the cold front would move to the state of Santa Catarina, but with the possibility of light rain in Rio Grande do Sul.
