A woman was found dead by the Santa Catarina Fire Department last Saturday (14), around 5:30 pm, in Travessa Tamoio, in the municipality of Rio do Sul.
The situation had happened approximately 40 minutes ago. This is the third fatal victim of the rains that have hit Santa Catarina since the beginning of October.
The woman was found inside a wooden canoe. According to her husband, the victim was in this canoe and when she went to climb onto the balcony of her house, she fell into the flooded area and drowned.
The Santa Catarina Military Fire Department Bulletin this Sunday (15) explained that, this weekend, the focus is on restoration actions, cleaning of cities, in addition to the organization and distribution of donations.
Since October 3rd, the state Fire Department has already received 1,725 calls; 321 vehicles; 142 municipalities; and 1,331 committed firefighters.
