Rio Grande do Sul already has 722 temporary shelters spread across the state due to the rains that have hit the region since the end of April. The survey was carried out by the Department of Social Development (Headquarters) with the municipal departments of Social Assistance.
According to Beto Fantinel, head of Sedes, the numbers may vary as new municipalities are affected by floods or the water level drops and people return to their homes.
