Rains should hit southern Bahia until Wednesday; see forecast

The week will still be rainy for southern Bahia at least until Wednesday (29), said Climatempo meteorologist Desirrée Brant to CNN this Monday (27).

According to Brant, the periods of heaviest and most intense rain occurred due to the position of the Convergence Zone of the South Atlantic, fed by humidity from the Amazon.

In the coming days, it loses intensity, but the lower volume of rain can still cause problems in places already overloaded with extreme amounts of recent weeks.

The forecast still gives account of rains in the Southeast of Brazil with stormy conditions, even though they are not comparable to the volume faced by the south of Bahia. Despite this – and also because of the summer – the heat continues.

On New Year, there are chances of beatings in the late afternoon and early evening. On the other hand, the southern region of Brazil and regions such as Sergipe and Rio Grande do Norte, in the Northeast, should not face rain at this time.

In January, the South should receive moisture migration. In the Southeast, however, the amount of rain should not be sufficient to supply the main water reservoirs in the region.
